The Slitting Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring slitting and rewinding machines to convert large rolls of material into smaller rolls or sheets. The role ensures production is carried out in line with defined specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in slitting, rewinding, or similar machine operation.

• Good knowledge of slitting and rewinding processes and machine operation.

• Experience handling materials such as paper, film, foil, or laminates.

• Ability to read and interpret measurements, job tickets, work orders, and technical instructions.

• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and precision.

• Good mechanical aptitude with problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently in compliance with safety standards.

• Basic math and measurement skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.

• Good communication skills for reporting production or quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitting and rewinding machines according to job specifications.

• Review work orders, job tickets, and production instructions before and during operations.

• Load and unload parent rolls and finished rolls safely and efficiently.

• Adjust knives, blades, tension, speed, and alignment to meet product requirements.

• Monitor machine performance and material flow throughout the production process.

• Inspect slit products to ensure correct width, edge quality, and absence of defects.

• Perform routine machine maintenance, blade changes, and basic troubleshooting.

• Accurately record production data, scrap levels, and machine downtime.

• Comply with all safety, quality, and company procedures at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Communicate production challenges, machine faults, or quality issues to supervisors.
