Our client, a reputable leader in the Agricultural sector, is looking to recruit a skilled Milling Operator.

Key Requirements

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Food Processing, or a related field.
• Must have 1–3 years of experience in cassava or similar root crop processing (milling, grating, or crushing).
• Familiarity with cassava processing workflows, especially those related to starch or ethanol production, is an added advantage.
• Candidates must be skilled in operating milling or grating machines, and capable of adjusting them for efficient performance.
• Should possess basic mechanical troubleshooting skills to handle minor maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have a solid understanding of hygiene, food safety standards, and general sanitation practices in food or ethanol processing environments.
• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cassava milling machines such as hammer mills, raspers, or graters.
• Feed raw cassava tubers into the milling system and maintain continuous throughput.
• Adjust machine parameters including speed, feed rate, and blade condition to achieve optimal grinding efficiency.
• Monitor the texture and particle size of milled cassava mash to meet quality standards.
• Conduct pre-startup checks, routine cleaning, and sanitation of milling equipment.
• Remove fibrous waste and peel residue from the process line in a timely manner.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as lubrication, screen changes, and filter cleaning.
• Record shift activities including material input-output, downtimes, and equipment servicing.
• Promptly report equipment malfunctions or abnormal behavior to the maintenance team.
• Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols within the milling area.
