Our client, a leading FMCG company, seeks to hire a Utility Engineer to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all utility systems supporting production. The role is responsible for maintaining utility equipment, minimizing downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring utilities are available to meet production, safety, and quality requirements.

Key Requirements

  • HND, ND, or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years' hands-on experience in utility operations and maintenance within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience operating and maintaining power generation systems, water treatment plants (WTP), wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), air compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, boreholes, and utility distribution systems.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices for industrial utility equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot utility equipment faults and restore operations with minimal downtime.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain utility equipment to ensure continuous support for production activities.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on generators, boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, WTP, WWTP, boreholes, and other utility systems.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor utility equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with OEM recommendations and company maintenance plans.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and utility performance logs.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, HSE, Procurement, and Stores teams to ensure timely maintenance activities and spare parts availability.
  • Monitor utility consumption and support cost-saving initiatives through efficient equipment operation.
  • Ensure all utility systems operate in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Assist in annual servicing, shutdown maintenance, equipment inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective or preventive actions to improve plant reliability.
  • Support the training and development of technicians on utility equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
