Our client in the chemical manufacturing sector seeks to hire a PU Chemical Sales Manager to drive national sales and business expansion for polyurethane (PU) chemicals, including polyols, isocyanates (MDI/TDI), catalysts, blowing agents, surfactants, and additives.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.

  • 5–8 years of proven sales experience in PU chemicals, foam chemicals, industrial raw materials, or polymer systems.

  • Strong technical knowledge of PU systems including MDI/TDI, polyols, catalysts, surfactants, and additives.

  • Experience working with foam manufacturers, footwear producers, insulation companies, or PU converters.

  • Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.

  • Ability to travel frequently across Nigeria.

  • Highly self-motivated, strategic, and target-driven professional.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement national sales strategies for PU chemicals and systems.

  • Acquire new customers in foam production, footwear, automotive, insulation, and related sectors.

  • Drive revenue growth by building a strong pipeline and increasing market penetration.

  • Conduct technical visits, product demonstrations, trials, and customer presentations.

  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain to ensure timely product availability.

  • Strengthen relationships with major PU clients across Nigeria.

  • Provide technical sales support and recommend appropriate PU products based on customer needs.

  • Manage customer contracts, pricing agreements, and negotiation processes.

  • Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure excellent service delivery.

  • Conduct quarterly business review meetings to assess account performance and growth opportunities.

  • Understand PU foam formulations, processing parameters, and key quality requirements.

  • Advise customers on the application and performance of polyols, isocyanates, catalysts, and additives.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts for customer production or formulation challenges.

  • Organize training sessions, seminars, and technical workshops for customers and internal teams.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and technical teams on product optimization and development.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor actions, market pricing, and customer demand patterns.

  • Recommend new product introductions and potential supplier partnerships.

  • Lead marketing initiatives including exhibitions, demos, and customer engagement programs.

  • Provide accurate monthly forecasts, sales insights, and strategic recommendations.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance reports.

  • Ensure compliance with chemical handling, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor customer credit exposure and ensure alignment with payment terms.

  • Work with internal teams to manage stock levels, logistics planning, and delivery schedules.
