Our client, a reputable leader in the Agricultural sector, is looking to recruit a skilled ETP In-Charge

Key Requirements

  • B.Eng in Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in ETP operations
  • Experience in the ethanol, sugar, or alcohol industries preferred
  • Proven experience in biological treatment processes, especially in Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) operations, aeration systems, and clarification processes.
  • Strong knowledge of anaerobic and aerobic ETP systems and effluent treatment parameters (COD, BOD, TSS, pH)
  • Familiarity with process instrumentation and SCADA/DCS operations
  • Leadership and team coordination
  • Process troubleshooting and analytical thinking
  • EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and regulatory compliance
  • Strong record-keeping and reporting abilities
  • Effective communication and coordination skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) operations to ensure effective biological treatment processes.
  • Monitor critical process parameters including pH, COD, BOD, MLSS, MLVSS, temperature, and sludge levels for optimal plant performance.
  • Ensure proper mixing, feeding rates, and microbial activity in the biological treatment system.
  • Supervise aeration systems, ensuring efficient operation of blowers, diffusers, and air distribution networks.
  • Maintain required dissolved oxygen (DO) levels and optimize aeration to reduce energy consumption.
  • Manage clarifier performance, ensuring effective sludge settlement and compliant overflow quality.
  • Control RAS and WAS rates to maintain process stability.
  • Ensure treated effluent meets statutory and regulatory discharge standards.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and daily logbooks.
  • Coordinate with the laboratory team for timely analysis and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports on ETP operations.
  • Identify mechanical and electrical issues with pumps, mixers, blowers, and clarifiers, and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and pollution control board requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for chemical usage, sludge handling, and treated water quality.
  • Supervise and guide ETP operators and support staff, ensuring effective team performance.
  • Plan and manage shift schedules for uninterrupted operations.
  • Enforce safety protocols, PPE usage, and hygiene standards across the ETP facility.
  • Maintain operational cleanliness and housekeeping across all ETP sections.
