Our client, a reputable leader in the manufacturing sector (Alcohol Production), is seeking to recruit a skilled QA Manager.

Key Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of setting up QMS from scratch.
• Experience in the blending, brewery, or FMCG industries is an added advantage.
• Proven experience implementing and managing ISO 9001:2015-compliant QMS in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with local regulatory (e.g., NAFDAC, SON).
• Practical knowledge of analytical instruments (GC, HPLC, spectrophotometry) and lab processes.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process optimization tools (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Demonstrated ability to work in startup or greenfield environments, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and implement a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and industry best practices.
• Develop QA policies, SOPs, protocols, and internal audit programs from the ground up.
• Oversee all laboratory testing, product validation, and in-process quality checks.
• Ensure strict compliance with local regulatory bodies (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, NESREA) and secure relevant product certifications (GCE, SPSC, etc.).
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain to embed quality into every aspect of operations.
• Lead investigations for deviations, non-conformances, and implement effective CAPA systems.
• Manage and train QA/QC personnel; foster a culture of accountability and quality excellence.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, consistency, and product integrity.
• Liaise with external auditors, customers, and stakeholders to uphold compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Regularly report quality metrics, risks, and improvement strategies to senior management.
