Our client, a top player in the Book Publishing sector, seeks to hire for the role of Editor - English Language Books

Key Requirements:

• HND/B.Sc. degree in English, Linguistics, Literature, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in educational or academic publishing, particularly with English Language Content.
• Strong command of English Language, including grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to manage multiple manuscripts and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with a diverse range of authors and contributors.
• Expertise in editing English Language textbooks, manuscripts, or Instructional materials.
• Proficiency with editing and word processing tools such as MS Word and Adobe Acrobat

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread manuscripts and learning materials designed to teach English grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills, and related topics.
• Ensure alignment with editorial guidelines, curriculum frameworks, and language proficiency standards.
• Provide feedback to authors on instructional clarity, language usage, and content structure.
• Review and verify the accuracy of exercises, examples, and language rules.
• Collaborate with authors, peer reviewers, and production teams to ensure quality and timely publication..
• Suggest improvements to enhance instructional clarity, learner engagement, and accessibility.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of English language teaching strategies, learner needs, and editorial trends.
• Oversee editorial timelines, project workflows, and production deliverables.
• Coordinate the management of manuscript files, editorial records, and reprint schedules.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial standards and practices for English language educational content
