Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking to hire a Mechanical Technician

Key Requirements:

• HND/B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum of 2 -3 years hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or process industry.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in utilities, production, and process plants.

• Proven ability to handle mechanical breakdowns independently and effectively during shifts.

• Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&ID diagrams, and mechanical schematics.

• Practical experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive, corrective, and planned mechanical maintenance of all production and utility equipment during assigned shifts.

• Quickly troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns to minimize production downtime and ensure smooth operations.

• Maintain accurate shift logs, reporting all breakdowns, repairs, and equipment conditions to supervisors.

• Assist in implementing maintenance routines and improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

• Collaborate with production operators to provide immediate technical support during machine issues.

• Monitor mechanical systems, report spare part needs, and ensure timely requisition to avoid operational delays.

• Interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and P&ID diagrams to guide maintenance and repairs.

• Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety standards and operational procedures.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce wastage and optimize utility usage (power, steam, air, water).

• Recommend and support training for operators on basic mechanical troubleshooting to reduce avoidable downtimes.
