Our client in the manufacturing sector seeks to hire a Laboratory Chemist to support quality operations within its rigid plastic production plant.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in quality control within a plastic manufacturing or FMCG production environment.

• Strong knowledge of polymer materials such as PET, HDPE, PP, and additives used in rigid plastic production.

• Practical experience in testing parameters such as IV testing, moisture content, density, melt flow index (MFI), top load test, drop test, wall thickness measurement, color inspection, and dimensional checks.

• Knowledge of injection molding, blow molding, and preform production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials (resins, masterbatches, additives) before production approval.

• Monitor in-process quality parameters during injection and blow molding operations.

• Perform finished goods inspections to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

• Record and analyze quality data and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and recommend corrective actions.

• Monitor rejection rates and support production in reducing defects.

• Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of laboratory and testing equipment.

• Support internal and external quality audits.

• Maintain accurate quality documentation and batch traceability records.

• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards within the laboratory.
