The role is responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Fixed Assets accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, and effective support for audits and business decision-making.  

Key Requirements

  • First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CFA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly in fixed assets, capital accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience in Accounts Receivable, General Ledger management, reconciliations, and audit support.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and procedures.

  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile the General Ledger and monthly bank statements.

  • Maintain accurate reconciliations with all customers (affiliated and third-party).

  • Review reporting requirements and ensure accurate and timely AR reporting.

  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and variance reports.

  • Review and submit periodic AR aged analysis.

  • Maintain the General Ledger in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.

  • Compile monthly GL schedules and ensure minimal or no reconciling items.

  • Manage recurring journal entries and ensure timely updates or termination.

  • Assist in writing footnotes to financial statements.

  • Maintain detailed balance sheet schedules and a master list of journal entries.

  • Manage the monthly fixed assets closing cycle, including additions, disposals, and adjustments.

  • Review asset creation, depreciation, disposals, and retirements.

  • Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the General Ledger monthly.

  • Capitalize completed projects and assets under construction into the fixed asset register.

  • Assign tag numbers and maintain the fixed assets register and depreciation schedules.

  • Track capital expenditure against approved budgets and authorizations.

  • Calculate cash flow requirements for asset renewal and replacement.

  • Conduct physical verification and investigate obsolescence of fixed assets.

  • Perform impairment reviews for tangible and intangible assets.

  • Prepare fixed asset audit schedules and support internal and external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Recommend updates to fixed asset accounting policies and procedures.
